Help

Something has stopped, and you want it working again. Find the sentence below that sounds like your problem. Every page names the cause first, then the steps, then what to do when the steps did not help — because a fix list that assumes the fix worked is the reason you are reading a second page.

Almost everything that goes wrong here is one of four things, and none of them is GPSLarp: the iPhone and the Mac have not been introduced to each other, iOS is holding a switch closed that it will not open without being asked, macOS wants a password before anything touches a device, or the network the two devices share is not the one you think it is.

Two questions get asked constantly in this category and are missing from the list above on purpose.

Whether an app can tell

GPSLarp changes what the phone reports at the system level, so an app reads it the way it reads a real GPS fix. That is a description of the mechanism and not a promise about anyone's detection: some apps run their own checks and enforce their own terms against location spoofing regardless of how it was done. No immunity from another company's policy is offered here, because none can be. Decide what that means for you before relying on this for anything that matters.

Whether the location holds

The best-known complaint in this whole category is that a spoofed location reverts by itself after a minute or two. There is no page here about that, and the reason is that nobody has measured whether GPSLarp does it. Writing a confident page about a defect this product might share, or claiming it is immune, would be inventing an answer — and the person who would pay for the invention is the reader. When it has been measured, it gets a page.

06Still stuck

The home page describes what GPSLarp does, what it needs and what it costs. The terms are the contract, and the privacy policy lists every service the app contacts from your machine. If you have an account, you can export or delete everything held about you from it.
